MARRYING A DOOR

"Why are you marrying a door?"

"Because it supports me so well;
Once a large bloke barged into me,
And the door stopped me as I fell."

"So the door was closed at the time?"

"Yes, but it can be open too.
It opens up a lot to me.
I think it must trust me, don't you?"

"But have you really thought this through?"

"Yes; to wed a door's just the job;
It's taller than me, solid, straight,
And has such a marvellous knob."
