You might be right

There will always be days
where you feel like
your best just isn't good enough,
where no matter what
you do
no matter what
you say,
it will only be 'OK'.
Why do these days
always come
when you just start to feel
like you're getting somewhere,
like you're close to success,
you get your hopes up
start to be more confident
and just let go,
and show
what you can really do.
Then you get struck down
broken down, to merely
a fragment of what you were,
you tell yourself
you're not good enough
and you never will be
so why continue to fight.
The scariest thing is,
you might just be right
