A conversation.
JONI: This is the dulcimer on which I wrote the seminal album 'Blue'.
ME: Actually, I think 'For the Roses' is better.
JONI: Bollocks.
ME: When you went to Greece, what were you running away from?
JONI: The taxman. Although 'Blue' is commonly taken to be a paean to the broken heart loved by moping twenty-somethings everywhere, it is actually a damning indictment of the American fiscal system. No one gets that.
ME: I have a broken heart, Joan.
JONI: Tell it to the mountains, poppet. I'm off to get me roots done.
