Entertaining! Think you need to replace a few of those commas with full stops, though! J x

Try: Grant the Gorilla, locked up in his cage, No one even knows his age, Sitting there scratching as people watch, A life he would be willing to swap, Peels a banana for himself to eat, Anything else to eat would be a treat, Makes a noise to scare them away, But more people will come along during the day. He dreams of trading places; He'd love to see people in cages, Walking around on all fours, Wishing someone would open the cage doors. He is not the only one; Penguins feel like they've been done, Having to live in a small enclosure and eat fish, Another place they could be they do wish. Tori the Tiger laying on the grass, Only because she can't be arsed To get on her paws and entertain, The same day for her over and over again. Flamingos in an open enclosure, Whilst in the wild they would be closer, Where they can fly off with no stopping them. In the Zoo the wings are clipped so they can't use them. Larry the Lion escaped from the Circus; He didn't mean to do it on purpose. Caught by the Zoo and stuck in a cage, When he roars it is full of rage, Squirting people in the face, Wishing he could get out of that place. But, the Meerkats, they feel safe, Glad that they are in that place, No danger from predators below or above, These little creatures are full of love. Not forgetting Sid the Stick Insect, In the wild he would have been pecked, And of course Wally the Wildebeest, In the wild he would be a feast. Zoos are good and Zoos are bad, Some animals glad while others feel mad. Different opinions people have of Zoos... If you were locked in there, what would you do? That's as far as I get, since your sentence structuring prevents much else. When you write the next poem, imagine you are writing prose and form your sentences as you would normally, then it would be easier to punctuate. J x

I love this notwierd_gifted, it is so true that zoos can be good for some creatures and bad for others, but at the end of the day, I believe all creatures should be free. I loved the way you managed to give this poem rhythm. Thanks for the read. Jenny.
