Turning Point

Which way to turn
with a heavy load?
The straight and narrow?
Or the winding road?
The trail less travelled,
I do prefer,
but busy streets
cause my heart to stir.
She wants to settle
and make a nest.
A dog and a baby
upon my chest.
So it’s love for life
in committed passion,
or leave today
in a timely fashion.
Adventure calls
with its twists and turns.
A transience for which
my heart once yearned
There’s one way to go.
My mind is clear.
The home and the hearth
bear me no fear.
The joy they will bring
when their gifts are bestowed
on the straight and narrow,
not the winding road.

"She wants to settle and make a nest,
"She wants to settle and make a nest, a dog and a baby upon my chest." first I've heard of this but I guess it could be done.
See you! Tom
