This Place

I came back to this place,
sat on the bench and watched
the straggle of geese paddle
the lake where mirrored autumn
melted in my eyes,
If only tears could cleanse regrets,
but they simply multiply.
How dare we, no, I -
how dare I throw away a thing
so wondrous as us. Looking back
is clarity - promise at the start -
fading to unnecessary endings.
Would you think me foolish
if you knew I miss you
after all these years, and could you
tell me, will this sadness
that I'm feeling ever end, Dear... ?

There is so much said in this poem Bee,
When we feel pain it's hard to smile, where sensitive thoughts fill our minds, we can only wonder at how we'll cope...though I imagine you do.
An Expressive, reflective poingnant read.
Take care Bee. Hope the sun shines for you this weekend.

Hi Bee
Hi Bee
Lovely poem, very nostalgic. I am wondering if it is the same regret that you experience over and over.

Hello dear Bee,
Hello dear Bee,
I loved this poem. Sad but reflective. I always want to be like other commentators on your work but I can't analyse as they do I just know what I like and this one follows all your others. I love them all no matter what the subject.
