Decisions that (may) change lives.

When I make a decision I realize now that I never really know what the outcome or the consequences of it will be. And although I suppose that must be true for everyone, the weight of this realization is heavy with me now. I mean the weight of the realization that I now have about any decision I make and unknown outcomes.

Now I have become very aware that if I allow this realization to become too heavy 'it' may make me fearful of ever making a decision again so I shall digress, as they say.

I must emphasize here that I am not necessarily talking about life changing and important decisions, although you may think I am. No, I am talking about the decisions that we make without thinking too much about them.

A life changing decision may be one that you may have spent weeks, months or even years pondering and re-pondering until one fine day you make up the mind and 'bam' the decision is made and changes are put in place or occur accordingly.

The other decisions, the ones I am trying to get too, are the one's that we make when we're not too bothered about the outcome. We are not too bothered about the outcome because it (the decision) doesn't seem relevant at the time. But I must say, and this is where the weight of the realization comes in, it is these decisions that can have huge ramifications for the maker of.

For example turning right instead of left, we may meet someone that changes our life A future wife or meeting a future career opportunity leading to fame and fortune. Of course an equally but not so pleasant meeting whereby an accident of some kind may occur. I hope you won't be put off by this because you know as well as I do that these things do happen. Hmmmm the consequences of decisions are or can appear to be quite heavy at times, if we think about it.

I would be great to see people stopping at junctions and at corners of streets rubbing their chins and scratching their heads, not each others of course, and looking very concerned about the 'decision' of which way they should turn. This probably would not be a concern for those that knew exactly where they were going, at first. But as they saw more and more people piling up on corners and junctions they too might become more concerned that they may not be as sure as they thought they were about where they were going.

So what am I saying here? I think that is for you to decide, don't you?
