In dreams you are with me once more,
Your warmth beside me,
Your heart beating in time with mine,
An eternity in each heartbeat.

In dreams I feel your breath on my cheek,
Your laughter tickles my ears,
The electric touch of skin on skin,
The lover’s ecstasy.

In dreams I see your serenity,
Hear your final breath,
Watch your light fade forever from my life,
Agony burns anew.

In dreams I cannot run, I cannot hide
I live our life each night,
Both joy and woe,
Grief’s lonely prisoner.

its easy to keep your mind busy when you're awake but when we sleep we loose control of where our minds take us - sometimes its a nice place other times it most definitely isn't. Thank you for your comments

Hi Darkenwolf, I thought you said you weren't very good at poetry, I think you are excellent. It seems to be flowing out of you. Such a sad dream, but at the same time comforting. I like this one. Jenny.

Dreams and this one is nearer to a nightmare, are very interesting. I have an idea that they really try to tell us something. But it is a known fact that the unconscious is spurred in your dreams and that is the now and not the future but you can decipher a lot from them and philosophise over their importance. This particular dream must have meant a lot to you pia

also when i sleep my mind wanders into the memorys I try to keep out of, eve the happy ones can be more painful, it is the way we are meant to deal with it, its just a long way around it! K

The problem with the happy ones is that they always come to an end and we plunge into the darkness once more. ;)

The happy dreams do come to an end but new happy ones can begin again where the older ones left us. The thing is you don't dream while you are awake. That is the magic!But life can be a dream while you are awake if you see the sun rise and the moon's crescent and spot the children's laughter. You see it all in your other poems and stories Darkenwolf! Just pondering over the meaning of life! Life is a beautiful past time ;)

Aha,! so you do believe in 'That is the magic!' Pia! Unfortunate tho, sometiimes Ii seem to slip from memories to dream even when am awake. I know a phrase something liik 'My mind not just wanders it sometimes gos completely! K

I mean you don't want your mind to wander off whilst you are in the middle of cooking dinner- it may be burnt to a crisp then!!
