“I…I…need to keep moving”- She went on slowly, following the torches lined up towards the stairs that led to the upper floor, she picked up the gun that had dropped before and left there the one she had used up until now, she had more ammunition but her right arm was completely ruined so she could not use both -Five bullets then- She climbed over the broken window of the store near the stairs and improvised a bandage for her arm by folding one of the curtains of the place and sliding it across her back to keep it from moving, it seemed somewhat pointless to her, giving the fact that her wounds looked like healed ones, but at least it would help her keep her arm steadier, she climbed out the window and up the fifteenth level.
She had thrown the key for the floor at the blue man’s face and did not occur to her before that she would need it, so she broke the window of the store and jumped in; not a single spark of light reached the interior of the room, so she could not even see her own feet, but Jane knew the place like her own house, she walked ten steps straight and then five to the left until she reached the showcase, moments later she came out of the store with a bar of chocolate on her mouth and three more in her pouch -I’m sorry Kate, I promise I’ll pay you…if I live to see the next day that is- the sweet taste in her tongue made the world suddenly and for a short time seem a little less miserable, and the sugar would hopefully help her fight the dizziness.
It was not until she reached the seventeenth that she sound made itself hear again, she had been expecting it for a while, hoping against hope that the dead man down there had scared off the others; she hastened her steps, her hand still hurting sharply but with the blurry sight gone and the dizziness down to a headache, she sped up again into a jog -Hurry- Jane urged herself while climbing the steps towards the eighteenth and reaching for he pouch to grab the next key and another piece of chocolate.
A shudder went across Jane’s body as was usually the case whenever she came inside this specific store; the weapon shop in the fourteenth floor was one thing, after all it was common for everyone in Siltzony to have guns and some people needed them for hunting, but this place was often nightmare fuel for her, Rick’s store had everything from swords, scythes, traps that could chop a limb off you before you realized that you fell into it, and a whole other number of weird artifacts that could stab you, cut you in half or make you wish you had been; on the bright side, this store’s windows faced the moon and it was located in a high enough floor to not have any trees blocking its light, Jane could see enough without stumbling around looking for candles. The original plan consisted in arm herself with a sword to use in case she ran out of bullets or the guns failed somehow, but what ended up failing was one of her arms and carrying a sword would only slow her down, her real goal laid in the twentieth floor, so instead she put the gun in her pouch, another chocolate in her mouth and with the free arm picked up four traps, small but incredibly useful…or so she heard Rick always say.
