Melinda enters slowly into the bar,
Remembering her mothers words,
You are who you are,
Going up to the counter.
Her eyes bright and expectant,
Awaiting the barmans answer,
"Come on then lets see what you can do,"
He grumbles loudly.
Gathering her strength she awaits her cue,
Her large arms clutch the microphone,
Come on Melinda she urges herself,
Pretend your alone.
Smirks fill the large crowd,
They stare at her flaws,
They begin to get rowdy and loud,
The music begins to play,
Her eyes fill with emotion,
Its going to be okay,
She begins to sing,
Her voice erupting into the audience,
Their eyes begin to sting,
The song gradually comes to a stop,
The crowd erupts in cheers,
She allows a tear to drop,
As their smirks disappear.
