One More Out of Tune Christmas

It was one more out of tune Christmas
He was too drunk to put up a fight
When his honey pie said, ‘You’re not sharing my bed!
Hang yer stockin’ at the tavern tonight!’
He was feelin’ his jollies this Christmas
Mistletoeing the ladies all night
Shouting, ‘Jolly good cheer!’
As he fought back a tear
Cryin’, ‘Santa’s gonna make it all right!’
While makin’ much merry at Paddy’s
Said the barman while cleaning his fife
‘Fer Christ’s sake, Jerome, ain’t ya ever goin’ home?’
He said, ‘No, sir! You’ve got me for life!’
Jerome, he stood at the juke box
Croonin’ carols with all of his might
He didn’t care that his voice wasn’t there
Just as long as his Christmas was white
Now, Santa, he came down the chimney
And he walked right on up to the bar
Sayin’, ‘Buckets of beer for my thirsty reindeer
And I’ll play somethin’ on my guitar
He sang ‘Merry Christmas, ya heathens!
Love your neighbor and don't live in fear
‘Cause you’ve only this life, love and laugh without strife
And you’ll probably see me next year!’
