about my shoes

and why not

my friends think i’m mental

‘cos i give ‘em names

but i’m not playing games

(that’s for me sneakers when

i pretend i’ve been to the gym)

this is more than life and death

my perfect tiny feet with

their extra cute tiny toes

walk in saintly footsteps

for that they deserve

as they offer me protection
