There is a tree in the garden
And I buried two pigs beneath it
Not farmyard pigs
The rodent type from Peru.
We put them in gift bags
With treats and hay
Like Egyptian Pharoahs
Minus the living servants.
I was scared
The dog would dig them up
But they have remained
Buried
I know someone who buried a hamster
Alive
It was hibernating
I checked that pigs don't hibernate
They don't
And they were stiff when I put them in the ground
We had to force them
Into their makeshift coffins
It was like they didn't want to leave
