May 13, 1920

Dear Mums and Daddy,

Banff is such a lovely place. We decided to break our journey here for a day, although it meant all the extra fuss of taking all our luggage off. I have never seen mountains quite like these. Peter has been ever so good for his grandmother. I thought that Una and Dick made a mistake in leaving him behind when they went to Canada a few months ago, but having the care of him has made Bammie come out of her depression somewhat, and enjoy the trip. I will write a long letter soon, and enclose some
photos.

Such beautiful mountains, that must have been breathtaking to see. No wonder they didin't mind the palava of unloading their luggage to see a spectical so wonderful.

I don't know that they had a layover in Banff - but there are so many of their photos of it, that I wouldn't have thought they would have got from just stopping for a meal.
