It is not that
I no longer
Yearn for your
Sunlit kiss
On the coolness
Of my upper cheek
It is just that
I have come
To know
The obscurity of oceans
It is not that
I no longer
Ache for
Your voice
In the middle
Of the cubist night
It is just that
I have come
To find comfort in
The frankness of silence
It is not that
I no longer
Miss you
And your
Autumnal eyes
It is just that
I have come
To accept
The fact
That leaves
Fade and fall

Just stunning, Jose! Don't think it needs those final two lines, though - I think just 'that leaves fade and fall' is a beautiful ending. I especially love 'cubist night' and 'autumnal eyes' is a haunting image indeed and a fantastic title, this is really brilliant I absolutely love it :)

I liked it too. The ending was perfect. Didn't see the first one but this works really well. Yes a gem of a poem Jose. I like the images Rachel pointed out and the very personal "kiss on the upper cheek"

I was looking around for the two lines that were supposed to be unnecesary and couldn't find them only to realize you had already edited them out. Nice poem! Very thought provoking!
