SHE showed herself in light and the baby knew her-glimpsed behind mother,the baby smiled.

SHE waited in the night and the young child felt her-in dreams she came as fairy,witch or playful child.

SHE whispered on the air but the girl ignored her-a change came to her body and she went away.

SHE brought the blood of life and the mother thanked her-tho'the name now used was of a newer day.

SHE laughed in fields of harvest and the running woman brought the growing children to her side.

SHE gave her loss and sorrow , the woman took them,held them tight within her as she cried.

SHE wore the cloak of death and the woman saw it, recognised that face beneath the hood.

SHE came again in light and the matron faced her-held out her arms and walked where SHE stood.

Wow little bear this is transporting and I think that this is the strongest piece that you have shared so far. The first line is wonderful: "SHE showed herself in light and the baby knew her-glimpsed behind mother,the baby smiled." Maybe consider the possibility of increasing the clarity of the meaning? Perhaps: 'SHE showed herself in light and the baby knew her; glimpsed behind mother. The baby smiled.' Or: 'SHE showed herself in light and the baby knew her - glimpsed behind mother - the baby smiled.' Either way even if you leave it as it stands its a damn fine effort thanks for sharing it.
