Take a thousand lines
we've danced and rhymed
looked backwards
raced forwards
cleansed our souls
with descriptive words
and what is left...
a blank colourless page
the paints are cracked
they are dry
brushes stiffened
defiant, stuck in the air
on the windowsill
in an old jam jar
Take a thousand lines
this is me, this is you
blue skies, tall trees
sad times, happy bliss
and what is left...
a book full of life
a river running
flowing imagery
to be forgotten
misplaced, discarded
a hundred old
summer leaves
left wet and soggy
from autumn rain
Take a thousand lines
and let's move on...

This is very beautiful.
This is very beautiful. There are several lines that are my favourites- well the whole poem comes together with all the lines. "Take a thousand lines, this is me this is you. . ." a special one and "summer leaves, left wet and soggy. . " what a perfect image
well done

This is gorgeous, Louise. As has been said, too many brilliant lines to single out a favourite - well done on the cherry. Going to read this again now :)
