E.U.'s Clerihews

Teresa May
to Brexit said nay
but now she can’t wait
to negotiate.
*
Merkel and Junkers
believe we are plonkers
not to remain
on the gravy train.
*
In Nicola Sturgeon
new ideas burgeon:
she wants to call
a new E.U. poll.
*
Unlike Jacob Rees-Mogg
we are all in a fog.
He does firmly believe
that we must leave.

Some good ones here Luigi
I do find Brexit one of the most spectacular examples of "cutting of your nose to spite your face"
So I guess I was one of the 48% (If I'd have been an ex-pat allowed to vote, but hey . . . at least I will stay in the EU!)
I think you collection summarises the muddled thinking over this debacle very well.
(I have posted my last Clerihew on IP today)

Now a debate is springing up
Now a debate is springing up over whether Brexit is unconstitutional. I voted remain simply because I felt the Uk will be too isolated if we leave. Now the value of sterling has slumped and we are all hit in the pocket there has been some changing of hearts and minds.

I am in Flemish Belgium
They are not happy with their other half at the moment.

According to the Flemish they are a objectionable lot,
but having worked with some I didn't find it that way, but Wallonia is definitely the poorer half of the country, hence the socialist's concerns. Now I'm retired I suppose trade deals don't concern me, but it might affect my son's prospects, but I'm not sure as he is into computer based graphic design.
Brexit is the thing that most affects me since half my pension income is paid in sterling and it's costing me serious money and so, although I was against it, I hope it is a success for purely selfish reasons!

Don't worry about it Luigi
In fact I was a bit concerned it might look anti-gay even though it wasn't intended that way, so I removed it
And also all my other Clerihews. I'm not sure they are my kind of genre really, but they are fun although I really prefer satirical ones.
......Actually I think my last one was about Count Dracula
