The Night Cafe
By Paul McCann
Lights faded dim and soft in me, with blended coffee,
The brew strange,
A new one, Mmm,
Alone there sat I listening for hours,
I had poetry and espresso with bites.
(And in reverse)
Bites with espresso and poetry had I,
Hours for listening,
I sat there alone.
Mmm, one new, a strange brew,
The coffee blended with me in soft and dim faded lights.
Footnote
This is a style I created called the mirror loop -.
The structure of this poem is written so that the poem can be read from the beginning to end ,and then back again from it’s end to the beginning.
