a person pens a pretty poem
accepts the accolades
a rabid roaring audience
wild ticker tape parades
.
sometimes this lucky person
writes a piece that is their own
twas given birth inside their soul
quite personal in tone
.
but poets are survivors
and when at last they die
they never really wander far
from folks like you and i
.
although they lack the fingers
that could type or deftly, pen
they still can get their point across
and do so now and then
.
they take a walk inside the minds
of kindred spirits near
and in a little night time voice
they whisper in their ear
.
this person wakes up giddy
inspiration they have found
and with a flow that's beautiful
this concept, they'll expound
.
the poet smiles, his child conceived
the surrogate prepared
the author matters not at all
the message must be shared

Pick of the Day
It is so much harder to write a poem that scans and rhymes! But you've nailed it - and the overall effect is coherent and imaginative. Congratulations.

Brilliant.
Brilliant piece of work M. Right up my street. 'walk in-side their minds' Love this. This is what us poets do, open doors to a vast imagination...where thoughts dance magic. LadyLily.
