SHOES
 
it was one day back in autumn
when i needed shoes and bought 'em
and it felt so good as they caressed my feet
 
now, its been another autumn
shoes are wearing on the bottom
and now my toes are almost on the street
 
so i needed shoes and got 'em
didn't even have to knot 'em
just slipped 'em on and they felt really neat
 
and i'm so glad i've brought 'em
cause they have a comfy bottom
so walkin' isn't just a tiresome feat

It's nice to read your nifty rhyming again!

I walked along the pavement yesterday in my old trainers, as the new ones I bought some time ago (by post, probably during covid) were a little large and need extra socks, and so I've tended to keep with the old ones, but gradually became aware that the soles must be rather thin now and were really rather uncomfortable for the length on that hard surface! Nothing better than new shoes, as long as they're comfortable, just like a new coat so that you can be out in all weathers. Love the ryhming autumn with em...
