Excuse me please
P K Routray
At man, big and famous,
great and genius
world looks with awe
in their praise many hymns they say.
Legendary figures are they
In the pages of history long they stay.
Also criticized are they
for the blemishes, in their deeds, find one may.
Truth is “To err is human”
though great, their error cannot escape the critics’ acumen.
But humor and fun at them people usually make
to the freedom of expression, none can escape.
On a great scientist, such a humor I found
the thoughts behind the cartoon kept me spell bound
The problems, scientists create,
later recognizing the pitfalls, at the same they berate.
Again to solve them by manipulation or invention
try and succeed some and catch the world wide attention
While trying with their human talent
observe they in the process many wonders, unknown lying latent,
highlight them they for the world to know them as their patents
laurels, accolades rush showering on them, recognizing their brilliance.
When later in real life the finding is found as problematic
for a solution they engross again and again with efforts frantic.
All scientific creations have destructive effect,
dazzle temporarily they with their illusory power but to the creation they do affect.
Theory of relativity and its aftermath
saw the world, the atom bomb and its wrath.
Formulated it by Einstein and became great at a young age,
but an old Einstein repented for the same and turned to preach like a sage.
Hence Einstein the great with funny make up and clown’s clothe
to bring out cheer on the face of the creation at the cost of him, takes he an oath,
To make others happy and to remain happy will be his goal if born again,
a clown not a scientist he would become, to create laughter but not formula for human bane.
(N.B at a cartoon on Einstein the great)
