More To Love Than 'That'

You look like a pinup, so my Alfred
Said, but he was blind as a bat,but
With an.heart of gold and eyes
So kind, I didn't mind he wasn't
Sexually that way inclined.
Although he tried.
We never spoke of how to
careress, in the forties that
Wasn't the thing to do back then,
And we were in the middle of
A terrible war.So we just held
Hands and shut Our eyes and
Prayed for a wonderful surprise.
it wasn't a volcano erupting
Sadly not, more like a cake
Looking appetizing on the plate
But once you had a bite,it left
You feeling anything but delight.
But nevertheless I loved him so
And he always treated me right,
Even when uncle jack accidently
killed his favorite black cat. and
Cousin Pauline burnt an hole in
His new straw hat, he brought to
Give Father Mac.
We met at his army barracks in Kent,
While treating another poor soldier for
Shock,he shouted nurse i need you
Quickly, it wasn't romantic anything but
Yet I knew when I turned and saw his face,
I had found my heaven, amongst this
War of evil and hourly empty beds.
So every day I wish he was here
And shed yet more painful tears,
While my heart and soul miss him
In my life, I smile with honor of being
An officer's wife.
