I am a leaf.
I’m that leaf on the tree outside the garden gate, yes that’s me.
Planning my future because I was asked;
Held in place by a finger, a frame.
Start like a ball of chocolate, end like a slice of fish.
In other times my friends have fallen,
Crisp and dried nothing on earth can bring them back.
I know my time of connection is limited,
Mother nature; saps my strength.
If you was me and I was you,
Would you notice me for the things I do?
Lent is you air, friends that are mine.
Stand in awe, think of other ways of spending your time?
Dance hand in hand,
Around the support, take root in its stance.
Embrace the age of all green things.
Love the things that spring season brings.

Some clever stuff going on
Some clever stuff going on here pumadelta.
"Saps my strength"
"Lent is your air"
"My time of connection is limited"
All really good lines which make this poem a delicate and absorbing read.
Nice one.
