Bus Pass [and BPL] Go Off to Camp

Bus Pass and BPL were running out of Enid Blyton ‘Famous Five’ titles to blatantly plagiarise for Bus Pass adventures. Several tricky ones were left, such as the one about going off to camp. BPL would rather go off to the dentist than go camping, and was firmly in the B&B, glamping camp. Bus Pass, absolutely in the same camp, announced that canvas was for painting on, not sleeping under. But what to do about the title and reflecting it suitably in this week’s buspassable trip?
Bus pass was of the opinion that they should just set up their own camp, and make some new adventure titles, much as BPL suggested the Scottish Ballet do. But BPL had a bee in her bonnet about using all those blithering Blyton titles first, and was adamant about making them fit, by hook or by jolly hockey stick.
Following a sugar-rush, from lashings of ginger beer, Bus Pass suggested ‘camp as Christmas’ might be funny, but BPL worried that wasn’t politically correct, and the ‘wokerati’ might get their tinsel in a twist. Bus Pass reckoned ‘woke’ was a four-letter word bandied about by a misogynistic, divisive media in the manner of the spoilsporting, malcontents they were. BPL, while, not unimpressed by Bus Pass’s opinions, made a mental note, in future to limit Bus Pass to just the one sugary lash.
BPL caught the Aberdeen bus, to return a purchase and spend some of the return money in Søstrene Grene, which according to Bus Pass was, inoffensively, looking ‘camp as Christmas’. (Well, it was). BPL wondered if there was a panto matinee they might attend, where audiences are actively encouraged to shout Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, wear sequins and behave as camp as they liked. But at £40 for a ticket, BPL declared, ‘Oh no we’re not!’

With you on the non camping
With you on the non camping options. I'm not even sure a camper van looks like much fun either!

I follow Amy and fox on
I follow Amy and fox on Instagram - she lives in various vehicles and travels to the most beautiful places in Scotland, making things in wood (and selling them to Toast, obviously). It does have a certain appeal, but I'm sure there are lots of downsides we don't see!
