Storm

Whooshing, whirling. pounding wind,
rushing powerfully, wild,
tearing branches, tiles, and pushing,
loosening roots and toppling, crushing;
rainfall pounding, heavy, hurled,
draining cloud-held cistern, tank,
pouring down to drench the world,
all awash in instant soak
channelling to swell the brook,
rivers heave and overflow
as they to the oceans go
flooding pastures on their way,
weighty, mighty flooding force
breaking banks,
and changing flow of water’s course:
shelter, listen to the storm,
waiting for return of calm.

The noise is something else
The noise is something else today isn't it. I hope you're ok Rhiannon - I think your side of the country has it worse than mine

I really admire the way last
I really admire the way last words in the lines stand out, as with - wild, hurled, and the alliteration of wind and wild. I feel my throat opening like the sky as I read it, to make the long vowel sounds in my mind. Would be a great one to hear read aloud! I hope it is calming down for you
