Transformation!

Tired, muddy woods and gardens
dead leaves rotting, brown stems wilting,
cloud oppressing daylight weak:
we’re glad of warmth in bright within.
Overnight the soft snow falls,
fluffy piles balanced on everything in sight
canopies untouched and bright,
cheerful children plunder, sparkling with wonder
– ‘never made a snowman before!’
and the snow on the child’s slide
slithers slowly down
as the plastic is warmed by the wintery sun.

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
you captured the view from our garden exactly. We had our first lot of snow early on Sunday morning. I bet your grandchildren loved it in your garden. Did they make a snowman? I loved the idea of fluffy piles balanced on everything in sight...kind of sums up the winter scene perfectly.
Jenny.
