goodness. Once a part

of the greater whole

a sector of community

who cared...

 

circumstances led them

to crime – stealing purses

holding up strangers

progressing to variety stores.

 

Hard drugs overcame fear

of being caught. Desire

for a fix accepting danger

and reality of prison.

 

From small level crime

to longevity...

no fear of being caught

no longer a reason to stop.

I call this a political poem. Our Canadian government recently enacted legal pot to be bought in government-sanctioned outlets and I and many in our country are against this legalization. As my last paragraph indicates, it does not help those who obtained it illegally in the past and received terrible habits and now their recovery programs may be for nothing considering they can now buy it legally. Beware of the no-cap intensity of the THC ingredient which can lead to Schitzophrenia-Psychosis. One of our nephews and grandchildren are suffering from these ill effects. Thankfully only ten per cent of our pot smoking population has purchased this now legal government-sold marijuana drug, as per a report the other day. However where are the remaining pot smokers buying this product?  Our Canadian government is calling it the fancy name -- cannabis, but it is still marijuana or pot, and potentially very addictive and dangerous.

The people most opposed to legalising drugs and prostitution are the pimps and drug trafficers, drug lords traders and merchants themselves. It is so. Once it is legalised and regulated they wouldn't have a market anymore.

When the use and selling are regulated there would not be a the black-market and even more than that it would protect addicts and the sex workers themselves, and even clients. We need to look the truth in the eyes.

It's like the poaching of rhinos, the simplist and only effective way to stop the culling of rhinos is just cut all of the horns off yourself first. Simple and 100% gaurenteed.

Thank you, Nolan, for your interesting observations. A serious problem now re thiis legal drug is the government cannot guarantee stock is available and it is reported many customers are returning to old suppliers who must remain hidden.
