Seasons

of memories led the

jackrabbit to hop

around familiar territory

filled with spruce

birch and trembling aspen.

Through the soft snow

of winter it was

easy to follow trails with

bounding legs eager to

play with family and other

forest kin.

Before returning

homeward after a fun

time they sang their

favourite

song: “This is our land.”
