Oh hippopotamus,
What a hippopota-fuss,
You’re splashing in my fishpond,
Now you’re rolling in the dust.
Oh hippopota-please,
Would you hippopota-cease,
This aggravates my allergies,
And now I’m gonna sneeze.
Oh hippopota-no,
Go hippopota-slow,
You’re trampling the borders,
Where my tulips like to grow.
Now hippopota-stay,
No hippopota-way,
You’ve smashed the neighbours fence down,
And now who’s gonna pay?
For hippopota-sake,
I made a hippo-sized mistake,
You looked cute at the pet shop,
But I should’ve bought a snake.

Hi Shades being a huge fan
Hi Shades
being a huge fan of T.S Eliot's poem of similar title, and considering the Papacy's current pedophiliac- erm- profile, I couldn't help but mindfully replace the word hippopota with hypocrite (and its ancillaries) to come up with a more sobering side to your poem.
interesting!
