The money you lent has all but been spent,
I’ve just a few coins in my coat,
I know I’ve delayed and you deserve to be paid,
But I’m struggling staying afloat.
Can you lend me some more, keep the wolf from my door?
Well, I’ve already guessed what you’re thinking,
See, try as I might, cash always seems tight,
And I’m no longer floating I’m sinking.
I know when we met I was broke and in debt,
And you said don’t make money your master,
Now I’m starting to panic, like the stricken Titanic
I’m a sunken financial disaster.
