Not trying to bug you.

If I were a centipede
I’d treat you to my charms.
I’d wear a hundred pairs of shoes
And scamper up your arms.

If I were a dragon fly
I’d hover ‘round your nose.
Or if I were a beetle
I could nip you on your toes

If I were a bumble bee
You’d have no need to fear me.
I’d land upon your ear lobe,
And shout until you hear me.

If I were a jumping flea
Or a grasshopper instead.
I’d use my bouncy legs to jump
And land upon your head.

If I were a butterfly
I’d flutter by in style.
Then trace the skies before your eyes
And pose and preen a while.

If only I were braver
I’d have no need to bug you,
I’d stay exactly as I am
And run right up and hug you.
