Our Next Door Neighbour

Our next-door neighbour, our next-door neighbour,
I spied through a gap in the fence,
A wooded hill and a watering hole,
And the forest looked terribly dense.
Our next-door neighbour, our next-door neighbour,
He’s become a peculiar fellow,
I saw a baboon in his Mothers old room
And a lion cub sat at the window.
Our next-door neighbour, our next door neighbour,
The noises I heard are absurd,
I heard screeches and squawks from ravens and hawks,
And an odd looking green and white bird.
Our next-door neighbour, our next-door neighbour,
Unless there’s some kind of mistake,
I saw him sit down for dinner last night
Eating a poisonous snake.
Our next-door neighbour, our next-door neighbour,
It could easily just be a dream
But I think he was there stalking a bear,
Wading the length of the stream.
Our next-door neighbour, our next-door neighbour,
He’s invited me over for tea,
I’ll take tea and cup cakes but no poisonous snakes
And I’ll hope that he doesn’t eat me.
