Ragged man
I met a man in ragged clothes
Who had his life in plastic bags
I have no money or goods he said
No motor cars or designer tags
I have two strong legs to carry me
And two good eyes so I can see
My treasures are my memories
I take them everywhere with me
I have a heart that gives me strength
And my faith is in my head
Houses, clothes and motor cars
Are usless when I'm dead.
Ive walked through every street he said
And laughed at the procession
Of hurried black clad buisnessmen
Working for possessions.
The ragged man then said goodbye
And as he shook my hand
I felt a calm sensation
And began to understand.
As he turned to walk away
I stared into my palm
Then raised my head to see him leave
But the ragged man was gone
