Dancing To A Different Tune

When friendships are lost
is there a moment when
distance hides behind moon
clouding what we once knew?
Or maybe an impulse of memories
have become flickers into the past,
smiling across seasons of our days
like the air we unconsciously breath.
I shall sit in silence as daylight approaches;
read all those creative memories we shared,
as raindrops begin beating on window pane
imagining them drumming – feeling the same,
that music that has long since fallen into void
once enchanting like blossom blooms in spring,
becoming somehow colourless in my later years;
compilation of birds song more pleasing to my ears.

This has a very floaty
This has a very floaty quality about it whilst also having a sense of loss and moving on with sadness. I like the floatiness very much that works with the idea of dance and music and birdsong. :)

Mine is much the same story
Mine is much the same story Jenny these days I like soft romantic music like panflute and harp and classic guitar etc. But I still like my the Doors and Van Morrison Bob Dylan etc just the same.
Though I must say it's hard to imagine you Jenny blasting the Metallica and head banging. I had the polices over a couple of time last I invited her in for coffee she said no she's on service she's working anyway she was nice I turned the music a bit softer. Attractive too.
Keep your feet on the ground and reach for the stars!

This is a coincidence :0) I
This is a coincidence :0) I had put on a band I was bonkers about at school, to help me do some cleaning and I didn't like them anymore!!! My son came home and said it sounded like some men grunting. I had to agree, and can only feel sorry for my brothers who had to put up with their older sister having aweful music.
Just like you, I have come to appreciate birds singing, it can make me cry sometimes.
Your poems lately have been so wistful. I do hope you are ok?

It is not just the warmth of
It is not just the warmth of the flames, but the warmth of the memories. You have made your life so rich! and from reading your writing, have made everyone close to you richer lives too. And us who read your stuff here. I can't believe someone so vivid is nearly getting their pension, it would take me a million years to experience a quarter what you have, and I doubt I will ever be so wise and generous

A lovely, contemplative piece
A lovely, contemplative piece Jenny to accompany your clearing out. I hope it sparks more wonderful memories - and I think you're right about keeping the letters - like little treasures from the past

The tensions of youth have
The tensions of youth have eased, so the appreciation of birdsong (and gentler music?) replaces the desire to drown the senses in the heavy beat?! Rhiannon

Do you think we are learning
Do you think we are learning to appreciate a music bigger than ourselves?
