When I feel sad or lonely
I like to go to other worlds,
through music and deep
meditation anything is possible.
Leading the way Liora continued to hum her song as they entered the light, which took them up a path and around the base of the mountain. They had to walk carefully as the path was quite slippery in places and so took each others arms for support. Thinking about what Liora had said about staying within the light, the children thought of happy times playing together and their families, each one smiling at the notion of going home.
The tune that the woman hummed, also gave them encouragement to smile. Jay mused on his feelings for Liora and the love he felt for this woman he'd only just met. He contemplated whistling along with her tune; but decided to resisted temptation, not wishing to upset the ambience.
As they trekked on the temperature seemed to fluctuate, wavering between hot and cold, it was so strange to the children who didn't understand, they couldn't make up their minds whether to keep their furs on or remove them. Looking up; the sky seemed to flirt with the walkers, going from grey clouds to blue sky, then back to clouds again. A flock of birds flew overhead completely unaware of the walkers, as they rose higher and higher into the atmosphere.
As the party ambled on, the woman began humming louder as if in a trance the tone echoing back down the beam, as it transferred her sound into energy. The light became stronger and the travellers found themselves being taken along as if floating.
Ice was now completely gone as the temperature became warmer, all the children felt a euphoria of joyfulness as they removed there furs, they'd never experienced anything like this before, it was like a dream.
A dazzle of sunlight came into view causing a rainbow of colours to spiral upon the beam, then as if by magic two golden birds came into view, from their red beaks came a cawing sound, the children stared up in amazement, never had they seen such birds before. As they flew down, their golden feathers turned silver at the tips, quivering and producing a silver dust which fell towards the beam, causing it to become larger and more brighter than ever.
Liora turned and stopped the children in their tracks to explain. “Those are the Golden Citrine birds, they live in the place I'm taking you too...if you watch them carefully they enchant all they touch.” Each child was spellbound by Liora's words, hungry to know more and eager to keep going.
The frozen path which was now long gone became stony, curving the large boulders that were now on either side of the track. Approaching an archway that looked ancient; like it had been formed since the beginning of time, they all marvelled at how perfect a configuration it appeared, considering it was a natural structure formed by nature alone. The curve of the arch framed the path in front of them, as they drew closer to what looked like an ingress.
The beam penetrated the darkness as they entered a passageway, leaving the children spellbound and no longer afraid. The eagerness to know more lifted their spirits, as Liora turned and announced in a whisper; “We're almost there!”
The environment of their surroundings changed as walls of crystal sparkled. The children wanted to reach out and touch them, but Liora warned to resist temptation. “The light is an energy that keeps us safe...remember what I said! If you reach out through the beam it will vanish like a bubble and so will we.” Faces turned and gazed at one another aware of their dangerous predicament, but smiling faces radiated happiness as all the cares of the past were forgotten.
There was a hushed silence as the ray shone through into a huge chamber. As they entered, their footsteps echoed all around. Liora stopped humming, the sound bouncing of the walls. Once again stroking and thanking the beam for bringing them to safety, the light opened up and Liora led the children out, where they were free to investigate their surroundings.
The light continued to shine its rays all around. Across from where they came in, there was a pool of water and a wall where lichen had grown from the dampness not only from the pool, but also from the water that ran down from above.
Liora turned to Jay and explained. “This is the Healing Waters of Enlightenment and Secrets I was telling you about, we will feel healed almost immediately as soon as we enter.”
Jay was in awe of the place and had an overwhelming respect of being allowed to enter such a spiritual location.
At the far end of the pool was an opening where a waterfall rushed down, the sound of water cascading invigorated the children.
Turning to the youngsters, Liora described what they would be doing next. “We will be entering the pool and passing through the waterfall on our way to the outside...the water will heal any ills or pain that you have,” she felt her stomach flutter with excitement. “We must all strip naked and enter the pool, when we've had enough we'll spend the night in the chamber.”
A couple of the children made their way over to some stone steps that had been naturally formed out of some boulders, a shaft of light shone down into the chamber, so they climbed up counting as they went. When they reached the top there was a slight gap in the rock where they could just about look out. The children sighed at the vision that beheld them, calling the others to come and look.
Daylight could be seen through the slit as lights danced and flitted across the landscape. “What are all those pretty lights?” Enquired one of the children, as the others fought to have a look.
Liora wanted them to come down and get out of their clothes ready to get into the pool. “All will be revealed soon. First we must enter the water and make our way through the waterfall.”
The children were impatient and grumbled that it wasn't fair, but turned and came back down, hardly able to contain their excitement and stripping off their clothes as they walked.
“Is the water going to be cold?” Asked one of the boys, clutching himself at the thought of freezing water.”
Liora smiled at the boy. “I can assure you the water will feel warm and relaxing. There are fish swimming under the water too, as the pool leads out onto a lake, it will be a wonderful experience I promise.”
Now the children were desperate to find out more, so without hesitation, some jumped in while others who were more weary walked in, their bodies tingling with exhilaration as they swam towards the waterfall.
