Feeding Time

Just a bit of fun.
Susie the Zebra had been led to her brother's enclosure to join him while her domain was being cleaned out, much to her annoyance at the fact it was nearly feeding time. She muttered under her breath at the indignity of the unnecessary move, shaking her head, humiliation showing in her eyes.
She was used to being on her own and eating in doors where no eyes could watch. “I want to go back to the privacy of my own compound.” She mumbled. Susie just hated being watched while she ate, to her munching was a luxury that she needed to enjoy privately, not having all eyes gawking eagerly. Who were these weird creatures who insisted on making her feel uncomfortable, in there strange attire? She thought to herself.
Susie stared out across the neatly planted hedges, noticing how different the beings looked standing on two legs with arms flaying in the air. Many of the creatures pointed in her direction, their long stick like legs motionless, rooted to the spot, while other tinier individuals had stumpy legs hardly able to stand up right.
Her brother by now was starving and looking for some morsel that might be lying on the ground.
“How can you enjoy eating Gerald?” She whispered in annoyance, trying hard to understand how her brother could carry on munching at a time like this.
“Easy!” Replied Gerald finding a bit of long grass on the verge of their enclosure. “I don't care who's watching, just forget about the beings, you get used to them after a while.” He carried on feasting. “I don't even register them anymore.”
Susie wasn't convinced. “Look! Gerald...Gerald pay attention.” But her brother was more interested in the blades of grass. “Gerald!” Susie demanded from the corner of her mouth, like some ventriloquist performing. “Gerald! Those creatures are eating – look! There mouths are covered in white stuff, what is that?”
Without looking up, Gerald insisted it was something deliciously mouth watering they called ice cream.
“Well!” Insisted Susie, “the least they can do is eat somewhere else, I'm sure they must know we're starving. Now where is that creature that feeds us?”

Hi Jenny
Hi Jenny
This was a bit of fun to read, and I'm sure animals in the zoo for the most part don't like being observed. But the dolphins I've seen are so excited at seeing people in boats that they swim around and around and do tricks to show off, and they don't get fed for doing it.
I suppose I have my own private zoo with my badger still in place, but neither he nor I are very happy about the arrangement.
