What a liberating feeling

doing housework

in the nude,

 

there's nobody about

so I wouldn't

call it crude,

 

my primitive words

an expression

of the heat,

 

vacuuming done;

floors nicely

cleaned,

 

now it's

time to take

my seat.

Humour aside, I was wondering whether clothes really make you hotter, or cooler this weather - they flap, and absorb sweat, and white reflects the sunshine … ?!

We were out walking and wondering if the sheep that seemed to have missed the shearing were feeling the heat, but decided that wool probably keeps them at an even temp rather than making them hotter?! Rhiannon

Hi Rhiannon,

this bit of writing was just a bit of fun.

I honestly can say that in my opinion clothes are a hindrance when doing housework in this weather, much better to close the curtains so nobody can see you and strip off, then all you have to do after is shower.

I suppose you're right about the sheep in their wooly coats keeping their bodies at an even temperature. Doing the housework inside, even with the windows open, there's just no air and it's so humid. Phew! I'm sweltering as I write this surprise and it's only 9.30am.

Hi Jenny

I enjoyed reading this, and agree with you about how nice it is to go about with few or no clothes on, but don't agree with you about vacuuming in this weather. Too much like hard work, and not really all tha necessary. Much easier to just sit at your computer in a cool part of the house and write all day long.

Hi there Jean,

I can't do anymore house work now, like you said sitting at the computer in a cool part of the house is much better.

I wrote this on Monday when it wasn't too hot, but the floors needed doing desperately and I didn't know how long this heat would last. I just hope it doesn't go on and on giving us an Indian Summer. This weather lasting till the end of September...well! I just can't imagine.
