Love

The dizzy dancing way you feel
like bubbles in champagne,
must not be shaken! 'Still the sparkle,'
for love can be too effervescent
if not given time,
and if you feel warmth slipping elsewhere,
have fun...swirl like ice cream...sunny the day,
let it seize your taste buds before melting away.
Those forever swans in rain and hail; ride
those tremulous storms, till moon's reflection
ripples afresh on lake, beauty of white feathers
join again as one.
'The dizzy dancing way you feel,'
Inspired from a line in Joni Mitchell's record,
Both Sides Now.

Beautiful ode to love you
Wonderful ode to love, you take the reader through some beautiful images- and Joni is one of my favorites too - I love the album 'Ladies of the Canyon' -love, the Circle Game and Big Yellow Taxi - but Both Sides Now takes me back to my youth - Judy Collins was the singer who charted it but it's Joni rendition, since she wrote it, is the one I like the best. Also, Woodstock and Michael from Mountain...and now you've got me in the mood to listen to some music. Thank you for this lovely poem Jenny, it was a lot like music too.

This is very lovely Jenny. I
This is very lovely Jenny. I like the warning of too many bubbles and the advice to 'sunny the day'. And yes, where there is love, there should also be swans. Rachel :)
