Misdisciples

If owning an expensive car, a house too big for your needs,
and buying jewellery hoping it’ll get you the looks you crave
You can’t be saved
If you wear a watch so expensive it could feed a hundred folk
Does it not tell you how you’ve wasted your time losing
The friends you left behind
To crave attention in places full of shallow waves
To talk about money being everything that’s true
Can’t you see what money has done to you
Fashion is persuasion celebrities are the sales team
Animals are slaughtered to make you look great
It’s like preaching love in a Church full of hate
The look at me generation consumed by self admiration
Never looking to the left or right or deep inside
Vanity is the safest place to hide

Great poem. Heaps of great
Great poem. Heaps of great lines, smooth reading, and the rhyme is natural and subtle. "Vanity is the safest place to hide". This one just works - it just does.
