Commandment

I am the lord God, put none before me
Yet which faith, should a man hope to follow
Only the prophets can lead us to thee
Mere men’s words to lay fallow, and hollow
Carve no idols, to worship or adore
Observe the Sabbath, heed all that I say
Prophets on a cross you seem to ignore
Who you follow, dictates your holy day
Thou shalt not kill, even superstition
Bear false witness, or covet thy neighbour
Unless by a papal inquisition
Or a heretic fallen from favour
I’ll tell you what men, you make up the rules
The truth, shall never be seen by such fools
Adultery, you should stone her to death
Thou shalt not steal, or we’ll chop off your hands
Then enter heaven, repent your last breath
For only your God truly understands
God of intervention, and jealousy
Man drowned and killed at his fickle command
I gave you light so mankind can see
Satan’s darkness continues to expand
Did you prevent Eve, from the knowledge tree?
Predict the first brother, to kill Abel
Oh’ all seeing God, you have to agree
For certain you fucked up every fable
Blame womankind in each fable letter
Written by men, who could have done better
