The Foresight

If you look in the mirror and you're missing an ear,
You're a man with a story to tell.
Your thoughts conjure up a feeling of betrayal,
Be it visions, a touch, or a smell.
Although what you saw showed the end of your life,
You're wrong, from that moment your life just began.
For, when you showed both sides of yourself,
You revealed all a man can.
There's always a feeling of guilt, without knowing,
Are you a man or a beast?
It's only a matter of time, before you decide,
Whether that was your final release.
To share with another, your heart and your soul,
It isn't that easy to do.
For, to find that person, it isn't that easy,
That person should be a mirror image of you.
You may be the envy of many a man,
Though you think that your life's tough.
But you must realise, you're put on this earth,
To take, not just the smooth, but the rough.
So remember, when your sitting contemplating your thoughts,
And the next bottle opens itself.
As long as you've got someone to listen and hear,
You have mental and spiritual wealth.
