I saw that word you said today,
I glimpsed it from the bus,
It darted down a side street,
Vanished in the rush.
I saw it again as the sun went down
Reflected in the water,
It hitched a ride on a heron's wing
Saying, "I'll catch yer later."
The last time I saw it
It was sleeping on a stone,
Grown a little mossy
It looked perfectly at home.
