Little Adam

Little Adam, age of 3,
saw a peach upon a tree.
The peach teased, "You can't reach me,
you're too small, little Adam".

 

But along there came a cat
who said, "I'll help you reach that.
If you'll share that peach with me,

I'll help you little Adam".

 

So upon the cat he stood
but even then it was no good,
the little peach was still too high
to reach for little Adam.

 

But along came a dog too
who woofed, "I'll give some help to you
to reach that peach if, a small piece,
you'll give me little Adam".

 

So on cat and dog he stood
and finally, then Adam could
reach the peach and cat and dog
both cheered for little Adam.

 

Sadly then, all three fell down
but that was no reason to frown
for then the cat and dog, that peach,
both shared with little Adam.
