One day, Simon the friendly spaceman was exploring in his submarine beneath a big lake on the purple planet of Peep and as he was travelling through the lake he passed by lots of strange creatures, like glowing fish that looked like lampshades and fish that were shaped like rectangles, 9 legged octopus's and even fishes that bounced around like underwater kangaroos but then, as he was looking through his perisope at all the strange fish, Simon noticed a very large fish, even bigger than a whale, that appeared to be weeping.
"Excuse me, Mr Fish", he asked, talking through a loud speaker in the side of the submarine, "But if you don't mind me asking. Why are you crying?".
"Because", said the fish, "The male fish of my species have to sing to attract a female fish but I can't sing".
Simon though for a minute.
"I think I might have a way to help you", he said to the fish, "But you'll have to swallow my submarine whole".
So the fish, opening its mouth wide swallowed Simons submarine and then, from inside the fishes mouth, Simon said,
"Now go and sing to a female fish".
"Oh but I told you I can't sing", said the fish.
"Don't worry", said Simon, "I'm going to help you sing".
And so the fish swam over to a large lady fish that was nearby and started to sing and when he did, Simon pressed a button on the control panel of his submarine that played a recording of someone singing beautifully, turning the volume up loud enough for the lady fish to hear.
And when the lady fish heard the singing coming out of the fishes mouth, she thought that it was the fish singing and instantly fell in love.
"Your singing is beautiful", she said to him.
But then the fish picked an underwater rose and handed it to the lady fish and, while she was smelling the rose, the fish opened its mouth, letting Simons submarine escape.
"Thank you", said the fish to Simon.
"Don't mention it", said Simon, "I'm always happy to help".
But then the fish gave Simon one of the golden scales from its tail.
"This scale is very special", he told Simon, "Whatever you wish for, it will turn into".
And so, pressing a button on the control panel of his submarine, Simon activated a little mechanical claw that, reaching out, grabbed hold of the giant fishes scale then thanking the fish simon, in his submarine, sped away.
Not long afterwards, however as Simon was exploring some underwater caves, suddenly his submarine was caught in a gigantic net and hauled up out of the lake and then, before he knew what had happened, a giant fisherman had pulled his submarine out of the net and was holding it in the palm of his gigantic hand, peering in at Simon through the submarines large front window.
"What have we here?", said the giant, "Some kind of little machine with a little man inside".
"Let me go", protested Simon, shouting through his submarines loud speakers.
But the giant only laughed and, opening a giant cage, he locked the submarine and Simon inside.
"Now what will I do?", wondered Simon, panicking.
But then Simon remembered the scale that the giant fish had given him that would turn into anything he wished for and wishing hard he made the scale turn into a giant key then, operating his submarines mechanical claw he used it to push the key into the keyhole in the cages door and turn it.
"Hey you", shouted the giant seeing him push open the door of the cage with the claw, "What do you think your doing?".
And giant came back over to the cage to lock the door again.
Fortunately, however, before he could reach it, Simon pushed a button on the control panel of his submarine marked JET PLANE and suddenly, a pair of aeroplane wings sprang out of the sides of his submarine as it transformed into a super fast jet.
Then Simon piloted the plane out of the cage and up into the air.
Ofcourse, the giant tried to grab at the plane and even swat it like a fly but Simons plane was too fast for him and, instead of catching Simon, the giant fisherman only fell out of his fishing boat and into the lake with a big splash.
Then Simon, relieved to have escaped the giant, flew home to his little dome shaped house and his robot cat Kay.
"Miaow-bleep-bleep?", asked Kay as he came in through the front door of his house and sat down.
"No", said Simon, "I didn't bring you back a fish but I have got the most amazing story to tell you".
