Two birds were tugging on a worm;
a robin and a wren;
the hold each had on it was firm
and neither would give in.
a robin and a wren;
the hold each had on it was firm
and neither would give in.
But as they pulled the worm got split;
in two halves it was torn
and, out of the two halves of it,
two whole new worms were born.
in two halves it was torn
and, out of the two halves of it,
two whole new worms were born.
And when each bird had his own worm
their war came to an end.
After that they were only firm
that they should both be friends.
their war came to an end.
After that they were only firm
that they should both be friends.
