*Drag Queen Goblin*

As a young goblin Bernie Bassenger hadn't had the same interests and hobbies as the other boy goblins. He prefered tosew and read gelle and gogue, the popular goblin fashion magazines.His father Gregoruk, who workes as a miner, had died when he was just two years old in an explosion, so he was raised by his mother and three sisters. At school he met his two best friends Steph the rock and Gladis Malula: the most eccentric, and chicest goblin girl in school. It was thse two friends who gave him support in the most turbulent time in his life.

It was a balmy, summer afternoon and Bernie was preparing for the Madonna concert later. He was slightly upset and embarrased because his mother, being the collybist she was, had bought him a cheap version of the designer jacket he wanted. But he felt happier knowing that he would look better than Steph, who always dressed in grey because she was a rock and it also reflected her personality. Bernie left his gothic style house feeling flamboyant and slightly pretentious.

"This is amazing", screamed Gladis enthusiatically as Madonna sung 'Material Girl' to the crowds delight. They were just a few metres from the great diva herself! There she stood in a dazzling emerald green dress, Bernie felt like she was the most powerful woman he had ever layed eyes on (except for his mother). Then at that moment he realised what was missing from his life, what he had always envied his sisters for. Womens clothing.

Only now did he realise when rteading his magazines how much he wanted to feel the rich and sensual fabrics of silk and chiffon upon his skin rather than the tough denim of his faded mens jeans. He longed for the evening dresses of the celebrities he admired, like Britney, even when she shaved her head. But it wasn't socially acceptable for boy goblins to wear dresses, particularly in the small conservative village he lived in called Davalavalavat.

The next day he told Gladis what he wanted to do. But he couldn't find steph. According to Gladis, Steph the rock had gone to the big city for fame and fortune. Gladis told Bernie,
"Why don't you do a drag show for the school show!"
Bernie considerd this for a moment the replied gleefully,
"Thats a great idea, i need to find a dress right away."

A few days later, most of the school had heard about Bernie's intentions, that he was going to do a performance in drag by the name of Klarissa Le Claire. But much to Bernie's and Gladis's disgust loads of people started abusing him, calling him many names that really shoudn't be written down. They were being narrow minded, and you shouldn't listen to them said Bernie's sisters trying to make him feel better. But nothing they said could make his mind stray from what they were putting him through.

On the day of the school show Bernie, or Klarissa who he was now dressed as, was feeling distraught about what he might get treated like after the show. Then he thought about when he first realised he wanted to do this, at the Madonna concert. What would Madonna say to him? She would want him to get up and wotk that dress. Suddenly Klarissa had a revelation; why should she care what others think, she was who she wanted to be, and had her family and friends with her because Steph the rock had recently come back from the big city after getting rich and famous.

Then it was time. Time to show the other goblins how much better at performing she was, time to glide around the stage in an astonishingly extravagant evening gown. Change was coming to America.The music played and Klarissa Le Claire thought to herself:

I am fierce, I am fabulous and I'm going to show them how it's done...in a pair of stilettos.
