The tooth fairy sneaked in,
In his socks;
Avoiding the creaking board
In your bedroom.
Gingerly slipped the fifty pence
Under your pillow and
In sneaking back out,
Stubbed his toe on the chair.
The tooth fairy said a bad word;
I know because you told me
The next morning,
As you ate your ‘Sugar Puffs’;
A fifty pence piece, lying next
To your bowl!
As I limped to the fridge
For more milk.

This I like, Chris!! And can identify with it many times over. Oh, so toothfully I can:-) Except, when my head was the occupant of the pillow, it was a measly sixpence. I blame it on inflation, really I do. Don't know they're born - kids these days;-)
