Small as I was
Responsible I felt
For someone even smaller

Small as I was
Big now I am
The memories are sharp and cut

Big now I am
I realise I did not deserve
The beatings and the pain

Big now I am
I’m still small inside
And still protect that smaller one

I realise I did not deserve
The blame, the shame, the pain
I try to learn that I matter

I realise I did not deserve
To loose myself
To hide
