LONELINESS

Why am I alone
And lonely
In a crowd?

Gloomy, blank - eyed
And worried

Why do I worry?
Where can I find
An answer?
Do I have
To ask someone?
Or consult a doctor?

My loneliness seems
Seasonal & ephemeral
If that is the case
How come
I can’t grasp
The fundamental?

Coming to terms
Visiting ones roots
Is a remedy
Because it enhances
Ones recovery
From this ephemeral malady

Should truly believe
In this self diagnosis
There is also some
Evidence to support
My hypothesis

If I want to avoid
This type of crisis
Interact
Open my heart and eyes

Home sweet home
Being or coming home
As they say
Is the only likely and
Proven remedy
Of this affliction
Which is seasonal

Loneliness
Can no more
Be a mystery
For I have now
Found the remedy

The proof
My recovery
From my ephemeral
Malady

Could be any moment or
Any day but
So far so good
I dare say

Loneliness is something most of us feel from time to time, and it does seem strange that we can feel even lonelier when we are surrounded by people; at a party where we don't know anyone, etc.etc. Your poem expresses this feeling well, Zemikael and the struggle with one's inner-self to rationlise these emotions.
